  Robert  Gene "Bob" Gardner, 
age 88, of Lebanon, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly and suddenly on Thursday evening, May 12, 2022 at the Bethesda North Hospital in Montgomery, Ohio.  On June 13, 1933 in Massillon, Ohio, he was born to the late Homer Maxwell & Gladys Corinne (Klein) Gardner.  On May 29, 1955 in Haydenville, Ohio, he married Ronna L. (Vollmer) Gardner, who survives.
 Bob worked as a teacher, coach and athletic director for over 40 years in the Indian Hill, Norwood, Madeira City Schools, and the Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy.  An Ohio University Graduate, he was a navigator in a refueling squadron in the United States Air Force.  He was a member of the Hyde Park Bethlehem United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife, other surviving family members are his daughter- Diane (Kevin) Boys, Wilmington, Ohio; 4 sons- Robert (Katherine) Gardner, Mansfield, Ohio, Thomas (Cynthia) Gardner, Milford, Ohio, Charles (Robin) Gardner, Columbus, Ohio, and Steven (Lisa) Gardner, Charlotte, North Carolina; 17 Grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters- Sue Davis, and Joyce Yerian, both of Dalton, Ohio; 3 brothers- Ronnie (Carol) Gardner, Dalton, Ohio, Jack (Cindy) Gardner, Massillon, Ohio & Donald (Rose) Gardner, Massillon, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
 In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by 2 sisters and their husbands- June (Chick) Sandwith & Wilma (Ron) Domer; and 2 brothers-in-law- Ron Davis and Dick Yerian.
 Graveside Funeral Services will be held at the family's convenience at the Fairview Memorial Garden Cemetery, Rockbridge, Ohio.  The United States Active Duty Air Force will accord military honors.  The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, Ohio, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
