Mary Eleanor Day Harris, age 84, of Wilmington, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord early Wednesday morning, December 23, 2020 at Ohio Living Cape May in Wilmington.

She was born April 8, 1936 in Wilmington, Ohio, daughter of the late Harley Wilson Day and Charlotte Amelia Lester Day.

In 1953 Mary was named the May Queen. She was a graduate from Wilmington High School Class of 1954, after high school she attended Ohio University, all while working at Kroger for her dad in Wilmington. After several years Mary went to Wilmington College and received her bachelor's degree, she then went to work as a case manager at the Nike Center. After retirement she would go to the upper peninsula of Michigan with her husband Kenny. She was a member of the First Christian Church- Disciples of Christ, Clinton County Gardeners Club, and the Eastern Star, where she was very active in the Rainbow Girls. Mary was also involved in the local 4-H clubs and loved genealogy.

Surviving are her husband, Glen Orr, whom she married on September 16, 2014, two sons; Jay (Gayle) Joyce of Cincinnati and Todd (Teresa) Joyce of Lebanon, three grandchildren; Christopher Tyler "Topher" Joyce, Ryan Miles Joyce, and Leah Marie Joyce, three brothers; Charles (Joyce) Day, Richard (Hazel) Day, and Steven Day, sister, Sara (Larry) Burnett, and was known as "Aunt Sis" to many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are step-children; Wayne Harris, Jeff (Teresa) Harris, Paul (Becky) Harris, and Barbara (Brian) Self, and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by first husband, Wayne Joyce, and second husband, Kenneth Edward Harris.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic a private celebration of life will be held at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Stephenson officiating.  Interment will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington, Ohio.
