Karen Pierce

Karen  Pierce,
Age 60, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Saturday evening, December 1, 2018 at the Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington  after her five and a half year battle with cancer.
She was born July 8, 1958 in Cleveland, Ohio daughter of the late Frank Joseph & Marilyn Louise (Scantland) Mitchell.
Karen received her BS degree from Ohio University in Dietetics & Community Nutrition.  She had worked as a Dietetic Nutritionist for the Prairie View Apartments in Wilmington.  She was a former member of the Eastern Star in Nelsonville and a member of the Presbyterian Church in Wilmington, but most of all she was a Mom.

Surviving are her husband of 37 years, whom she married on August 8, 1981 in Nelsonville-  Thomas Pierce; 2 sons- Benjamin (Jill) Pierce, Springboro and Timothy (Kelly) Pierce, Wilmington; grandson- Oliver Pierce; brother- David Mitchell, Charlotte, NC; 2 sisters- Becky (Joe) Officer, Oakdale, CA & Lisa (Louis) Lozano, Boston, MA; and many nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her brother- Mark Mitchell.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 6, 2018 at the Presbyterian Church of Wilmington,  with Pastor Jim Graham officiating.  Graveside Interment Services will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery, in Nelsonville, Ohio on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 12:00 Noon.
Friends will be received from 9:30 AM until the time of services at the church on Thursday, Dec. 6.
