We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home
On Tuesday evening, July 26, 2022, Karen Sue Burdine, loving wife, mother, and nana passed away at the age of 64. She was born on November 12, 1957, in Walden, Colorado to Alvy William Maddux and Carnea Que Maddux. She married the love of her life Rick Burdine on November 23, 1976, and shared nearly 46 wonderful years together. Together they raised 3 children and had the pleasure of spoiling their 7 beloved grandchildren. She was a devoted nurse for 32 years, most recently at Clinton Memorial Hospital where she earned the love of her patients and their families.
Susie to those closest to her, loved the outdoors and was always up for an adventure from hiking and camping to sky diving. During the summer you would find her taking her grandchildren to Kings Island to ride the scariest roller coasters. In her free time, she loved listening to music from Led Zeppelin to Crowder, quilting, and would take ice cream over any meal. Her funny laid-back nature drew everyone she met to her. Her passing is a tremendous loss to all who have had the pleasure to be in her presence.
She is preceded in death by her father Alvy and her mother Que, brothers Alvy Tillman and Alvy Junior, sisters Gracie Stevens and Patricia Hunter. She is survived by her loving husband Rick, children Tammera (Aaron) McGuire, David (Mallory) Burdine, and Sarah (Michael) Tullis, grandchildren Gavin, Ian, Abbey, Brianna, Noelle, Veda and Dexter; sisters Ruby Mendoza, Vanetta (Terry) Weimer and Bobbie Clinard of Colorado.
Funeral Services will be held at on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 W. Locust St. Wilmington with Rev. Larry Herald officiating. Interment will follow in the Clarksville Cemetery.
