Joy Hall

April 27, 1937 — June 9, 2022

Wilmington

On Thursday June 9, 2022 Joy Elaine Hall, after 85 years full of life, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her husband and children.
Joy was born on April 27, 1937 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Herbert and Georgia (Walsh) Conover.  She spent most of her life in Ohio and in recent years spent her winters in Florida where she could enjoy sun and warmth with her husband and friends.  She was an active member of the Wilmington United Methodist Church and the Progress Club.
Every day of her life, Joy lived true to her name - she worked tirelessly to make those around her happy.  Anyone who knew her was touched by her generosity - generous with her time, her thoughtfulness, and her giving spirit.  She was the giver of sweet treats just when you needed them, curator of many a Christmas gift box full of things you didn’t know you needed, and collector of Cool Whip tubs to send you home with food full of love.  She created magic for her grandchildren through trips to Walt Disney World, and loved playing games of all kinds - from board and card games to mini golf.   She will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved her.
Joy is survived by many family members - she was the beloved wife to Dean Hall, loving mother to her children Barb (Dave) Blocker, Patty Mitchell and Rich (Laurie) Mitchell, proud and doting Granny to her grandchildren Christie Anderson, Jeremy (Theresa) Mitchell, Ellen (Jim) Webb, Liz (Clayton) Reynolds, Olivia Mitchell, Damian Mitchell, great-grandchildren Wesley Mitchell, Zackery Lowe, Ace Anderson, Cooper Reynolds, Jack Reynolds, Ella Reynolds, great-great grandchild Everett Mitchell, and cherished sister in law to Terry (Marge) Hall.
Joy was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Dale Conover and her first husband Bill Mitchell.
A gathering to celebrate Joy’s life will be held at Wilmington United Methodist Church on July 26, 2022 from 10:30am -11:00am followed by a service at 11:00am.   The family requests donations be made in memory of Joy to the Clinton County Homeless Shelter,36 Gallup Street, Wilmington, Ohio.
