William "Bill" Joseph Mowery, age 80, of Xenia, Ohio, passed away Monday, July 8, 2024 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
He was born March 27, 1944 in Greenfield, Ohio, son of the late George Francis Mowery and Stella Leadingham-Mowery-Horsley.
Bill served in the United States Air Force before retiring from NCR after 30+ years of dedicated service. He was an avid sports fan, particularly baseball- GO REDS! And a Browns football fan- we won't hold that against him. Bill was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who will be missed dearly.
Surviving are his 2 daughters: Georgetta (Don Hinders) Richards of Xenia and Kimberly (Sean) French of Bethel; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Don (Christa) Mowery; and 3 sisters: Gloria Lewis, Jane Ann (Dean) Greene, and Ednabelle Shackleford.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by wife, Elmyra Ann (Hixson) Mowery, whom he had been married to for 46 years.
Funeral Services will be held at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 W. Locust St. Wilmington, Monday, July 15th, 2024 at 1:00 PM with Daniel Bainum officiating, everyone please wear Red's gear to rember Bill. Interment will follow in the Barnes Cemetery, Fairview, Ohio, where the Highland County Honor Guard and Active Duty Air Force will accord full military honors.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 AM until the time of the services.
