He was born August 31, 1930 in Clementsville, KY, son of the late Jonathan Henry Hicks and Myrtle Rodgers Hicks .
He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served during the Korean War.
Surviving is his wife, Charlotte Rash Hicks of Hillsboro, whom he married June 20, 1953, 2 sons, Stanley (Judy) Hicks, of New Vienna, Steve (Barb) Hicks, of Hillsboro, 3 daughters, Ramona Lovins, Summerset, KY, Rita Cartwright-Pitzer, of Lynchburg, and Jennifer (Jason) Bradley, of Ft. Wayne, IN. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and a brother, Carl Hicks, of Casey County, KY.
Graveside Services will be held at Coss Cemetery, Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 11:00 am with Pastor Daniel Robbins officiating. The Highland County Honor Guard will conduct full military honors.
