Sandra S. Sabin Burnett,

91, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away on early Wednesday morning, July 9, 2025 at the Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington.

She was born January 8, 1934 in Wilmington, daughter of the late Fred & Verna Mae (Crawford) Sabin. On December 31, 1957 in Wilmington, she married John Dickey Burnett, who passed on May 9, 2009.

She was a 1952 Wilmington High School Graduate and a 1956 Wilmington College Graduate.

Sandra owned and operated Sabin Wholesale Distributors and had been a proud professor at Wilmington College, teaching English and Western style riding in the 1970's. Sandra loved horses. She was well known owner and breeder of standardbred racing horses for over 60 years. She was a member of the US Trotting Association, the Ohio Harness Horseman's Association.

Surviving are son- James Burnett; daughter- Susan (Ken) Holliday, both of Wilmington; grandchildren- Timothy Holliday, of Philadelphia, Caroline Holliday, Wilmington, Ben McAllister, Wilmington, & Lyla (Travis) Dellinger, Marysville, OH; and several nieces & nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sandra was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law- Amber Rose Burnett; Brothers- Arnold, Curt, & Gordon Sabin; and sister- Jane Nester.

Private Graveside Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family in the Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington with Pastor Mike McCormick officiating. The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home is assisting the family.
