Russell W. Kell

  Russell W. Kell, age 91, of the Mowrystown Community passed away early Tuesday morning, January 23, 2024 at Legacy of Hillsboro.  

  He was born August 19, 1932 in Georgetown, Ohio, son of the late Harley E. and Stella Belle (Roberts) Kell. On April 4, 1953 he married Dorothy (Moore) Kell.

  Russell was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. He graduated from Whiteoak High School class of 1951 and was a member of Good News Gathering. Russell was a long time employee of Irwin Auger Bit and a farmer.

  Surviving are his loving wife of 70 years, Dorothy Kell; son and daughter-in-law, Derick and Kim Kell of Mowrystown; daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Steve Brooks of Midland; five grandchildren: Courtney Hunley, Lindsey (Ronnie) Hall, Tyler Hunley, Brittany (Grant Hickey) Gilbert, and Tanner (Molly) Kell; seven great-children, Landon Hall, Luke Hall, Gavin Hunley, Braydon Hunley, Audrey Gilbert, Isabelle Hickey, and Olivia Hickey.

 In addition to his parents, Russell was preceded in death by two brothers: Ralph Kell and Delton Kell; and two sisters: Janet Reed and Vera Faye McQuitty.

 Funeral Services will be held at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, 138 E. Main St. Hillsboro, Friday, January 26, 2024 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Jeff Lyle officiating.  Interment will follow in the Roberts Cemetery, Taylorsville, Ohio.

 Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm.
