Robert York Jr.

Robert Russell York Jr., age 68, of Hillsboro, Ohio, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018 after battling cancer at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati.

He was born November 27, 1949 in Logan, West Virginia, son of the late Robert Russell York Sr. and Marzetta Jane Lacy York.

Robert was a member of Hillsboro Freewill Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and expressed it to everyone. Robert was a proud union worker for the International Bureau of Electrical workers for 42 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working with his hands. Robert was an avid Cleveland sports fan. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who will be sadly missed.

Surviving is his loving wife, Eva York, two children, Christopher (Stephanie) York of Tipp City and Shalissa (Joshua DeWeese) York of Hiliard, two step-children, Karly (Robert) Darling of Leesburg and Chuck (Miranda) Day of Sardinia, fifteen grandchildren, Jacob Staley, Casey York, Jennifer York, Kaitlin York, Robert York, Rebekkah Long, Adam DeWeese, Lacy DeWeese, Sarah Dunham, Kaitlyn Dunham, Trevor Dunham, Christian White, Benjamin White, Braylin Day, and Patrick Day, great-granddaughter, Rilee Clatworthy, five sisters, Virginia Glasmyer, Barbara (Robert) Evans, Patricia (Cecil) Burgess, Elizabeth Thompson, and Priscilla (Ronald) Dixon, uncle, Everatt York, aunt, Pauline York, a host of nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by a sister, Redith Blakenship, and a brother, Vernon York.

A celebration of life will be held at Hillsboro Freewill Baptist Church, 6360 US Hwy 50, Hillsboro, OH, Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Richard Burns officiating.

Friends will be received at the church on Tuesday  12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
