Maxine (Scott) Gilham age 83 transitioned to heaven on October 26, 2025.
She was born on October 26,1942, to the late Chacy, Sr. and Elva (Ward) Scott in Wilmington OH. God ordained that she would begin and end her earthly journey on the same month and day (83 years apart)!
She graduated from WHS (Wilmington OH), Highland Park Community College (Detroit MI) and took courses at COTC (Newark OH). Her employment careers included clerical, cashiering, women’s shelter worker and accounting. She was dedicated with a strong work ethic and was known for developing policies and procedures that resulted in more efficient ways of completing tasks.
Maxine married Harry Gilham and moved to Newark OH in 1978. Maxine enjoyed traveling, gardening, music, board games (Scrabble being her favorite), playing cards and bowling. She was always “up” for a good game.
Maxine accepted Christ at an early age and was guided by biblical practices throughout her life. She had a great sense of humor, enjoyed her years as a Bible study teacher and loved spending time with family, especially her favorite and only grandchild Justin, playful great grandson Ronin and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, her devoted husband, Harry joined her in eternity within 5 days
and all of her siblings: Johnny Scott, Chacy Scott Jr., Judith Ann Ward, Imogene Smith,
Wayne (Bucky) Scott, Farrell Scott, Gary Scott, Thomas (Tommy) Scott and granddog, Ryoko.
She is survived by her loving daughter Deatria (Dee) Hall, blessed and life-saving grandson, Dr Justin (Oralia) Sanders, and adorable great grandson, Ronin Sanders.
We will cherish lessons learned, fond memories and loving words and actions that we experienced during her lifetime. We thank God for her and anticipate our heavenly reunion with her someday in heaven.
