Mary Butts

Mary F. Butts, age 82, of Sardinia, Ohio, passed away Christmas night, December 25, 2018 at the Salyer Home in Hillsboro.

She was born November 20, 1936 in Jamestown, Ohio, daughter of the late Thomas Milton and Frances Irene (Lundy) Fleming.

Mary was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, former member of the Buford Homemakers and retired from Lynchburg Clay Local Schools where she had served as a librarian for many years. Mary loved playing the piano and shared her abilities with the Buford United Methodist Church and also as the musical accompaniment for many school musicals and functions.

Surviving are her loving husband, Harold R. "Dick" Butts of Sardinia, five children, Barbara (Henry) Spurlock of Wichita, KS, Debra (Chad) Hollon of Blanchester, Sandra (Mick) Ford of Hillsboro, Jon (Lisa) Butts of Sardinia, Sara (Rodney) Carruthers of Wilmington, thirteen grandchildren, 23  great-grandchildren, two sisters, Maxine (Charles) Borton of Wilmington and Virginia (John) Shoemaker of Wilmington.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by two great grandchildren, Addison Bogan and Andrew Michael Ford.

Funeral Services will be held at Edgington Funeral Home, 17 E. Main St. Mowrystown, Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 10:00 am with Pastor Joe Pinkerton officiating.  Interment will follow in the Buford Cemetery, Buford, Ohio.

Friends will be received at Edgington Funeral Home Friday, December 28, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 7:00pm. Eastern Star services will be held at the conclusion of the visitation
