Marilyn Hanselman, age 88, of the Mowrystown community, passed away on Saturday night, May 2nd, 2026 at Clermont Mercy Hospital in Batavia.
She was born August 4th, 1937 in West Union, Ohio, daughter of the late Harry Sylvester and Marie (Glasscock) Emery. On December 29th, 1986 she was united into marriage to Paul Hanselman, who passed away on January 9th, 2024.
Marilyn was a member of the Mowrystown Church of Christ, where she playing the organ for many years. She retied from Fech-Heimer in Blue Ash after 20+ years of service and had been on the Mowrystown Life Squad for many years. She enjoyed playing softball in her younger years, attending to her flower beds, and going out to eat with her family.
Surviving are her 4 children: Randy (Kay) Pointer of Batavia, Cheryl Vance of Mowrystown, Jill Vance of Mowrystown, and Todd (Danielle) Pointer of Buford; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 3 step-children: Paula (Mike) Carroll of Sardinia, Tammy (Mike) Koehler of Russellville, and Aaron Hanselman of Mowrystown; 5 step-grandchildren; 7 step-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters: Phyllis (Howard) Bohl, Mary Smith, and Vera (Joe) Robinson; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marilyn was preceded in death by her son, Brent Lee Pointer; brother, Gordon Emery; and 2 sisters, Betty Gossett and Beverly (Stephen) McConnaughey.
Graveside Services will be held at Sugartree Ridge Cemetery on Tuesday, May 5th, 2026 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Chris Gobin officiating.
Edgington Funeral Home, Mowrystown is serving the family.
Contributions in Marilyn's memory may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with expenses.
