Laurie B. Gillette

  Laurie Jean Brand Gillette, 
age 68 Years, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away Wednesday morning, April 19, 2023 after a lengthy illness at the Crestwood Ridge Nursing Home in Hillsboro, Ohio.
She was born January 27, 1955 in Bristol, Connecticut, daughter of the late Francis & Laura (Gilleo) Brand.  On August 21, 1982 in Bristol, she married James Leslie Gillette, who survives.  They resided in Bristol until 1996 when the family moved to Wilmington, Ohio.  She received a BA in accounting and management from Wilmington College.  She had worked in a variety of positions mainly in an accounting capacity, most recently at ABX Air.
Laurie was passionate about a number of issues, mainly animals and her daughter Stephanie's activities, especially Steph's band pursuits.  Laurie most recently was a volunteer at the Wilmington Area Humane Society.  In addition, few people knew this, that Laurie was a proud Democrat, but was afraid to say so out of fear of being bullied.
 In addition to her husband of 40 years, other surviving family members are her daughter- Stephanie Gillette, Hamilton, OH; her loving cat- Luna and her sister- Bonnie Pellitier of Bristol, CT.
 
Memorial Services will be held  12:00 Noon, Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at the Presbyterian Church of Wilmington,  840 Timber Glen Drive, Wilmington with Pastor Stan Gockel & Elder Sara Maus officiating.  Interment will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington, Ohio.  The Family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of services. The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
