Joyce L. Peters

Joyce L. Peters, age 91, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2026 in Wilmington, OH. She was born September 22, 1934 in New Vienna, OH to the late Joseph and LaVerna Rittenhouse.

Joyce was a 1952 graduate of Clarksville Vernon High School and a graduate of Wilmington College. She retired from Clinton Massie Schools after over 20 years. Joyce loved being a part of her community and was nominated for Outstanding Woman of the Year in Clinton County. She was a member of Wilmington Friends Meeting, Eastern Star of Clarksville and Waynesville, First Families of Ohio, Daughter of the American Revolution - George Clinton Chapter and the founding president of Colonial Dames of the 17th Century - Indian Trails Chapter.

In additon to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her first-husband, Arthur Reinsmith; her-second husband, Donald Alan Peters and her sister, Joanne Duncan.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Donald) Hagedorn; her sons, Terry (Melinda) Peters, William Peters, Todd (Shannon) Peters; daughter, Debbie (Mike) Coldiron; grandchildren, Kristine Gillespie, Kim (Nathan) Cain, Karin Kratzer, Mark Peters, Matthew Peters, Rylan (Sherry) Peters, Melissa Peters, Galon (Faith) Coomer and numerous great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2026 from 10:00am -12:00pm at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 W. Locust St. Wilmington, OH 45177.

Graveside service will follow, beginning at 12:30pm at Clarksville Cemetery, 342 S. First Street Clarksville, Ohio 45113.
