Joseph Barlas,

age 71, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away Wednesday afternoon, September 10, 2025 at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.

He was born June 27, 1954 in Pittsburgh, PA son of the late Joseph Patrick & Dorothy Cecilia (Ruffing) Barlas. On June 7, 1975 in Munhall, PA, he married Margaret Anna (Hanchak) Barlas, who survives.

Joe retired as an aircraft mechanic inspector at the Wilmington Air Park. He was a member of the St. Columbkille Catholic Church and the Clinton Model Aviators.

In addition to his wife, other surviving family members are his sons-Joe Barlas, New Albany, IN & Nicholas (Megan) Barlas, Amelia, OH; daughter- Carolyn Barlas, Wilmington; grandson- Elijah Barlas, Wilmington; 3 brothers- Bob Barlas, Elizabeth, PA, Gary (Melissa) Barlas, Munhall, PA, & Tim (Robbin) Barlas, Dayton, Ohio; sister- Cheryl (Dave) Richard, Harrisburg, PA; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his sister- Linda Satter.

Prayers will be said 10:15 AM, Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at the Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 West Locust St, Wilmington followed by the Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM, Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church, 73 North Mulberry St with Fr. Tom Mannebach officiating. Interment will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington.

The Family will receive friends from 4-7 PM, Monday, Sept 15 at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home.
