John V Shoemaker

  John Vincent Shoemaker, 
age 79, of Midland, Ohio and the Georgetown VA Community, passed away Thursday afternoon, January 11, 2024 at the Clermont Mercy Hospital in Batavia, OH.  
  He was born January 16, 1944 in Cincinnati, Ohio, son of the late Vincent Clarence  & Gladys Lucille (Kelly) Shoemaker.  On January 19, 2002, he married Virginia L. "Ginny" Fleming Shoemaker, who passed on January 1, 2020.
A Vietnam War Era US Air Force Veteran, John retired as an operator for the Wilmington Waste Water Treatment Plant.
  Surviving are his children- Michelle, Theresa, Rebecca, & Tracy Shoemaker; step-children- Terri Jo (David) Creditt of Midland, OH; & Ryan (Dawn) Felheim; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister and a brother.
In addition to his wife and parents, John was preceded in death by a brother
Graveside Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Springfield Friends Cemetery, 190 Todds Fork Road, Wilmington with US Air Force Veteran-Chaplain Doug Campbell officiating.  Active Duty US Air Force Airmen and The Wilmington American Legion Post #49 Honor Guard will accord full military honors.  The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, is assisting the family.
