Joan Akers, age 85, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Soin Medical Center in Beavercreek, Ohio.
She was born June 4, 1941 in New Vienna, OH.
Joan retired from Kurz-Kasch after 30+ years of service.
Surviving are son & daughter-in-law, Dan & Linda Akers of Leesburg, two Grandchildren, Brittany (Tim Estel) Akers, Kyle (MacCayla) Akers, four great grandchildren, Noah, Colton, Christopher, Slate and several nieces & nephews.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Zela and Virgil Plymire, daughter & son-in-law, Cynthia & Tim Leighly, Grandchildren, Phillip Leighly and Alan Leighly, the Love of her life, Jim Malone, Father of her children, Paul B. Akers, three Brothers, James Taylor, Clarence Taylor and Carl Pendleton.
Services will be held at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Thursday, July 2, 2026 at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in the Clinton County Memory Gardens, Wilmington, Ohio.
Friends will be received at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home July 2, 2026 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm.
