Obituary:

James Richard "Jimmy" Taylor Sr.
Age 71, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away Saturday Night at 11:30 PM, May 28, 2011 at his residence in Wilmington surrounded by family and friends after a lengthy illness.


He was born April 10, 1940 in Fayetteville, Ohio, son of the late James Ervin Taylor and the late Zela Burton Taylor Plymire. On June 20, 1980 in Covington, Kentucky, Jimmy married Sharon Lynn Morris, who survives. They were married for 31 years.


James worked as a Union Laborer in Road Construction and was a member of the Wilmington Eagles FOE #1224, the VFW, and the Clinton County Coon Hunters Association. He was an avid fisherman and loved to hunt and water race dogs.


In addition to his wife, other survivors include his 4 children- James R. "JR" (Amber) Taylor, Jr, NewVienna, Ohio, Clayton E. "Bub" (Kelly) Taylor, New Vienna, Ohio, Jeanie (Lou Bilinovich) Longstreth, Sabina, Ohio, & Kim S. (Lance) Spurlock, Hillsboro; 8 grandchildren- Amanda (BJ) Moreton, Madison Taylor, Alexis Taylor, Chloe Taylor, Jason Taylor, Zoe Taylor, Caleb Taylor, & Mackenzie Weiner; a great-grandson- Wyatt Conner Moreton; sister- Joan Akers, Wimington; 2 brothers- Clarence Taylor, Carrolton, KY & Carl Pendleton, Cincinnati; step-sister- Virgene Mallonee; 2 step-brothers- Charles & Virgil Plymire; several nieces and nephews; special friends- Victor and Luquita; and like a father to many others.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father- Virgil Plymire and 2 step-brothers- Homer & Harley Plymire.


Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 West Locust Street at North Mulberry Street, WIlmington, with Pastor Gregory Hewitt officiating. Interment will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington, OH.


Friends will be received from 5-8 PM, Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, OH .
