James Allen Barber

James Allen Barber, age 66, of Mount Orab, Ohio, passed away early Wednesday morning, September 24, 2025 at Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati.

He was born September 1, 1959 in Georgetown, Ohio, son of William Edward and Tulane Gay (Boothby) Barber.

Jim retired from Barrett Paving Materials in Cincinnati after more than 20 years of dedicated service as a truck driver. A lifelong car enthusiast, he had a special love for Corvettes, enjoying both collecting them and spending time in the garage working on them. Above all, he was a devoted family man who took great pride in providing for and caring deeply for his loved ones. Known for his generous spirit, he gave freely of himself and never expected anything in return.

Surviving are his wife, Diana Barber of Mount Orab; mother, Tulane Barber of Mount Orab; two daughters: Jennifer (Brendon) Gillham of Milford and Brandi Barber of Mt. Orab; step-daughter, Jenny Lynn Mider of Cincinnati; two brothers, Dale (Joanne) Barber and Roger (Rose) Barber both of Mt. Orab; sister, Teresa (Allen) Jones of Mt. Orab; ten grandchildren: Holly (Daniel) McQueen of Cleveland, Morgan (Jaron) Brock of Sardinia, Noel Gillham of Milford, Chloe Gillham of Milford, Wayne Roehm of Goshen, A.J. (Andrew James) Mider of FL, Aiden Foley of Ft. Thomas, KY, Lauren Wainscott of Ft. Thomas, KY, Lucille Emanuel of Ft. Thomas, KY, and Emmalynn Dianika Mider of TN; great-grandson, Solomon Gillham; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, William Barber and a step-son, Robert Mider.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Living Church of Five Mile, 16908 US-68, Mt Orab, OH, Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Don White officiating.

Friends and family will be received at the church on Saturday from 12:00 pm until the time of the services.

Edgington Funeral Home, Mowrystown has been entrusted with the arrangements.
