Harvey E. Smith

Harvey E. Smith, age 75, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at his home in Wilmington, OH.

He was born January 28, 1950 in Wilmington, OH, son of the late Carl E. and Emma Lee Pierce Smith.

Harvey was retired from the U.S. Navy where he served as a Master Chief; among his many duty assignments were the R.O.T.C. Administrator at Villanova University and Miami University. He was also the former Superintendent at Sugar Grove Cemetery in Wilmington for several years.

Surviving are wife, Enriqueta Smith, whom he married June 9, 1972, three daughters, Dawn (John) Weston, Donna (Damon) Csollany and Terri (Lori Mitchell) Smith. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Brittany (Ron) Griffith, Michael (Ashley) Lochman, Samantha (Michael) Lochman, Isabella Smith-Weston, John Weston, Jr., Hunter Csollany and Sophia Csollany as well as 5 great grandchildren, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

In addition to his parents, Harvey was preceded in death by a brother George and a sister Florence Ann.

Private graveside services will be held at Sugar Grove Cemetery where the Wilmington American Legion Veterans Honor Guard will conduct full military honors.

The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington is serving the family.
