George E. Cordy

George E. Cordy, age 87, of Blanchester, Ohio, passed away on Friday evening, February 6, 2026 at Hospice of Cincinnati in Blue Ash.

He was born March 8, 1938 in Brown County, Ohio, son of the late Robert James and Mary Rita (Maher) Cordy.

George worked in the construction business for 41 years and had retired from Mosaco Construction. He was also the gravedigger at Blanchester Cemetery for many years. George was a faithful member of Wilmington Bible Baptist Church, Blanchester F & AM Masonic Lodge #191, and Blanchester Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He loved to farm when he was younger, fish, mow grass, pitch horseshoes, and play euchre.

Surviving are his 3 children: Rick (Julie) Cordy of Blanchester, Ron Cordy of Pleasant Plain, and Becky (Phil) Riess of Independence, KY; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Art Cordy; sister, Rita Willis; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his son, David Cordy, 11 siblings and the mother of his children, Ethel Cordy

Funeral Services will be held at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 W. Locust St. Wilmington, Friday, February 13th, 2026 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Josh Dixson officiating. Interment will follow in the Springfield Friends Cemetery, Wilmington, Ohio.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 am until the time of the services.
