Genevieve "Mama" Bargo

Genevieve "Mama" Miller Bargo, age 74, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2026. She was born on October 22, 1951 in Gray, KY to the late George Miller and Allie Engle Miller.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, A.C. Miller, Jimmie Miller, William "Bill" S. Miller; her sister, Janet Belew; her nephews, Jerry Miller, G.W. Miller; niece, Arlene Belew; sisters-in-law, Ella Miller, Irene Miller, Debra Miller and her brothers-in-law, Floyd Belew and Larry Jones.

Genevieve is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Kenneth "Ken" Bargo; her son, Sean (Bobbie) Bargo; daughter, Kristy (Doug) Carraher; Son, Stacy (Natalie) Bargo; grandchildren, Kable Bargo, Allison (Joey) Stewart, Sicily Carraher, Clara Carraher, Hayes Carraher, Calvin Bargo, Maddix Bargo, Maverick Bargo; great-grandchildren, Bexley Stewart; sister, Mary Jones; nephews, Tracy (Sheila) Jones, Tobey (Angie) Miller, Floyd (Vandora) Belew Jr.; nieces, Marlene (Steve) Huff, Darlene Miracle, Bridgette (Mike) Fore and Jennifer Miller.

Genevieve’s life was not an easy one, she was born in her mother’s flower room (maybe that’s where she got her love of flowers) in Grey Ky. She grew up in the Blackstar Mining Camp alongside her older siblings. Gen had a love of cats; when she was a little girl she had twenty-seven of them at one time. Genevieve was loving, caring, and nurturing to everyone she met. She loved her family more than anything in the world. She never failed to tell her grandchildren she loved them more than a cat loves cream. She opened the hearts of others as easily as she opened the door of her living room. You would always find warm chocolate chip cookies on her kitchen table.

Like a flower, her beauty will never truly fade. She will bloom forever in the hearts of those that loved her.

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 16 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Edgington Funeral Home, 17 E. Main St. Mowrystown, OH 45155.

Graveside service will be held Monday, August 17 at 1:00pm at Candle Ridge Cemetery in Gray, KY.
