Frank Wayne Kendall,
Age 86, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly early Tuesday morning, April 26, 2022 at home.
He was born September 13, 1935 in San Pedro, CA, son of the late Frank Alvin & Margaret Mary (Zuccone) Kendall. On May 23, 1964 at the Beavercreek Church of Christ, he married Mary Alice (Jones) Kendall, who survives.
He was a member of New Antioch Church of Christ, where he was a prayer warrior. He attended Winchester High School. After high school, Wayne assisted on the family farm, where they had the first milking machine in Adams County, Ohio. On the 175 acre farm, he plowed, planted, cultivated and harvested such crops as corn, tobacco, wheat, hay and oats. He was a US Navy Korean Conflict Veteran, performing as the rear gunner on the USS Vega destroyer. Frank served his country and his country served him well. He was also a member of the Wilmington American Legion Post #49. He retired from ABX Air as a sorter in 1999 after 11 years of service. Wayne enjoyed model building, and reading books on cowboys and guns.
In addition to his wife, other surviving are family members are his sister- Roberta Carol (Roy) Druhot of Goshen, OH and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his brothers- Roger Kendall, Tom Kendall, & Terry Kendall.
Funeral Services in the Committal Shelter will be held 12:30 PM, Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at the Dayton National VA Cemetery, 4400 West Third Street, Dayton, Ohio 45428, where the Dayton National Cemetery Honor Squad and Active Duty United States Navy Seamen will accord full military honors. Interment will be in the Dayton National VA Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio. The procession will begin at the Dayton National Cemetery Front Office Parking Lot at 12:25 PM, on Tuesday, May 10.
