Evelyn A. Wright
Age 95, of Wilmington, passed away Thursday Morning, June 9, 2011 at the Autumn Years Nursing Home, Sabina, Ohio. She was born January 15, 1916 in Belmont County, Ohio, daughter of the late Walter & Etta Mae (Groves) Perkins.
A graduate of Centerville High School in Belmont County, Ohio, Evelyn attended Cincinnati Christian University and the Columbus Business University. She retired as a cosmetologist from Kosta's Hair Salon in Downtown Wilmington after 30 years of service to her customers. She was a member of the Wilmington Church of Christ and had attended the Sabina Church of Christ. Evelyn was involved with the Young at Heart Group and College Ministry at the Wilmington Church of Christ. She loved jigsaw puzzles, sewing, and making quilts.
Survivors include her 3 children- Paul Wright, Alexandria, VA, Sara Humnelgard, Wilmington, and Nathan Wright, Sabina; 2 grandsons- Aaron (Tina) Humnelgard, Crescent Hills, KY and Vance Humnelgard, Wilmington; great-grandson- Luke Humelgard; great-granddaughter- Jillian Humnelgard; brother- William Perkins, Quaker City, Ohio; 3 sisters- Kathryn Whiteley, Quaker City, Ohio, Della (Ernie) Knecht, Akron, Ohio, & Barbara (Marion) Hopper, Batavia, Ohio; sister-in-law-Gertrude Reitenbaugh, Adelanto, CA; Special Niece- Janet Davis, Adelanto, CA and several other nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband- Lyle Wright and 2 brothers- Edison Perkins and Oliver Perkins.
