Doris Elaine Barcena, age 95, of Hallandale Beach, Florida, passed away Tuesday afternoon, September 19, 2017 at Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care of Florida in Hollywood, Florida, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born January 1, 1922 in Mowrystown, OH, daughter the late Charles F. & Stella (Borden) Roberts.
Doris began her career as a buyer for Henry Harris, a high-end boutique women's clothing shop in Cincinnati, OH, and continued in that vein for many years. She ended her work career as a receptionist for a physician, which she held until age 85.
Surviving are her sons- Charles "Rocky" Rodgers (Hollywood, FL), & Kenneth Rodgers (Chambersburg, PA); grandsons- Edward "Trey" Rodgers (Leesburg, VA), Scott Rodgers (Herndon, VA), Kurt Rodgers (Herndon, VA) & Cameron Rodgers (Fort Lauderdale, FL); and 8 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her sisters- Dorothy Roberts, & Dolores Bordenfelter.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, October 6, 2017 at the Roberts Cemetery, Edwards Road, Taylorsville, Ohio with Pastor Chris Gobin officiating. The Edgington Funeral Home, Mowrystown, Ohio has been entrusted with the arrangements.
