Donna M. Walker

Donna Marie Walker, age 70, of Hillsboro, Ohio, passed away on Monday morning, May 18, 2026 at her residence for many years, surrounded by her wonderful caregivers and housemates.

She was born December 13, 1955 in Hillsboro, OH, daughter of Vernon Lee Walker and Gladys Imogene Groves Walker Hopkins.

Donna enjoyed telling jokes, fishing, coloring, and doing puzzles. She enjoyed KFC chicken gizzards and a Friday night beer. She was full of life and known as the house warden and informant. Donna participated in the Special Olympics and attended Camp Itawa. She had a deep love for High-Co and Hills & Dales, she was always wanting to go to work to shred papers. Donna loved watching the TV show Reba and Gun Smoke any Western she would watch. Donna loved to sing and listen to music especially Oldies with her cat Kittlie. Donna was always telling others she loved them. Donna enjoyed milkshakes, chocolate candy bars, and Mt. Dew. Donna had a very contagious laugh that would make the whole room fill with laughter. Donna was very much loved by her staff and her peers. Her memory will forever live on in our homes and hearts. This is just a small glimpse of Donna’s life she had so much to offer to everyone she met.

Surviving are her brothers: Terry Walker and Jerry Walker; sister, Mary Susan Walker Carter; step-brothers: Norman (Karen) Hopkins and Ken Hopkins; step-sisters: Mary Hopkins and Judy (David) Hopkins Boris; and longtime boyfriend, Terry Williamson. She was blessed with wonderful caregivers and extended family at Rescare- Willettsville Home: Peggy, Christina, Tonia, Maranda, Stacey, Ashley, Alicia, Angie, Brandi, Maddy, Nancy, Billie and Debbie, and her longtime friends Tonia and Kevin Mosley.

Donna was preceded in death by father, Vernon Walker; mother and step-father: Gladys and Warney Hopkins, Jr.; brother, Kevin Walker; sisters: Helen (Harold) Ashley, Pauline, Deloris (Tom) Carroll, and Sue (Paul) Waits; step-brothers: Elvin Groves, Henry (Carolyn) Groves, and Mike Groves; step-sister, Cheryl Hopkins; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, 138 E. Main St. Hillsboro, Friday, May 22, 2026 at 12:00 pm with Debbie Knauff officiating. Interment will follow in the Hightop Cemetery, Samantha, Ohio.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 am. until the time of the services.
