Donald Edward Rose

Donald Edward Rose graduated to eternity on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at Ohio Living Cape May. He was a lifelong resident of Wilmington, born August 30, 1930, the son of Howard Rose and Pearl Forte Rose. His wife, Elaine Stull Rose, preceeded him in death in April, 2015, after a nearly sixty year marriage.

Donald graduated from Wilmington High School in 1948, and served in the Marines. He was a long-time employee of Cincinnati Milacron, followed by an encore career with the city of Wilmington as a cab driver. He loved his church family at Wilmington Church of Christ, serving in many capacities over the years. Together with Elaine, he enjoyed RV traveling to bluegrass festivals.

He is survived by his children Steven (Cindy) Rose, Brenda (David) Dennis, and Brian (Becky) Rose, grandchildren Anthony (Erin) Rose, Megan (Zane) Clouse, Abigail (Jason) White, Courtney Dennis, Andrew (Rebekah) Dennis, and Sarah Dennis, great-grandchildren Larkin, Layton, Macklin, Evander, Charlie, and Evangeline, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceeded in death by grandson Timothy Rose, and his brothers and sisters, Bertrand, Ocie, Ruthanna, Betty, and Paul.

Graveside services will take place Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Sugar Grove Cemetary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Ohio Living Cape May or Wilmington Church of Christ. The family is especially grateful for the loving care provided him by the staff of Cape May. You blessed him and us, and we thank you.
