Cossie "Randy" Ferguson

June 13, 1959 — June 18, 2023

Leesburg

Cossie Randall "Randy" Ferguson, age 64, of Hillsboro, Ohio, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday evening, June 18, 2023.

He was born June 13, 1959 in Springfield, Ohio, son of the late John Haden Chester and Darlene (Johnson) Ferguson.

After graduating from Grennon High in 1977, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. His love for carpentry (a gift from his dad) then led him into a life and career of architecture and construction, where he eventually designed and built the Roy Acuff and Minnie Pearl Museum in Nashville, TN. Later in life he married his true love and soul mate on July 3, 2009, Connie (Sexton) Ferguson and settled down in Leesburg, Ohio. Here he found joy in driving the Amish, of which many became dear friends. He was also proud of the time he spent with the Highland County Honor Guard. He was a cherished man to so many throughout his life. He never knew a stranger and was always willing to love his friends and family with all he had and give without a second thought. His love for music brought joy to all who were blessed to hear him play and/or listen to him sing..

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Connie (Sexton) Ferguson, sister, Susie Speelman of Pigeon Forge, TN, three children, Andrea (Jason) Williams of Tipp City, OH, Ciera (Kevin) Holder of Lynchburg, TN, and Justin Haden Ferguson of Shelbyville, TN, step-children, Ronnie (Kathy), Shannon, Jimmie (Traci), Chad (Aimie), and Travis, and numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his son, Randy Ferguson and a brother-in-law, Dr. Robert Speelman.

Funeral Services will be held at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, 138 E. Main St. Hillsboro, on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Ferncliff Cemetery in Springfield, Ohio, where the Highland County Honor Guard will accord full military honors.

Friends will be received on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of the services.
