Chiyoko Clemmer,
Age 97, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away late Thursday night, May 8, 2025 at the Wilmington Nursing and Rehab Center in Wilmington, Ohio.
She was born March 28, 1928 in Fukuoka, Japan daughter of the late Turuo & Masao Nonaka. She was an elementary school teacher and an American Red Cross volunteer in Japan during WWII prior to moving to the United States with her beloved husband. She continued her love for children and teaching here in Wilmington for many years through 4H programs offering her knowledge of sewing, quilting, baking, crocheting, and art of origami to anyone willing to learn.
Surviving are some extended family and several good friends including Enriqueta (Harvey) Smith of Wilmington, OH and their children Dawn (John) Weston, Donna (Damon) Csollany, and Terri Smith who loved her like a grandma. Her life stories and kindness will be remembered fondly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband- Hubert L. Clemmer, who died on December 2, 2004 and a brother and sister.
Friends will be received from 10:00 AM - 10:30 Am, Friday, May 16, 2025 at the Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 West Locust Street, at North Mulberry Street, Wilmington. Graveside Funeral Services will follow at the Sugar Grove Cemetery, West Truesdell Street, Wilmington.
