**Obituary for Brian Scott Massing**

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Scott Massing, aged 58, of Port William, Ohio, who departed this life on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.

Born on April 24, 1967, in Xenia, Ohio, Brian lived a life marked by generosity and compassion, ultimately giving the extraordinary gift of life as an organ and tissue donor.

A proud graduate of Bearcreek High School in Lakewood, Colorado, Brian further pursued his education at Kettering College of Medical Arts. His professional journey began in the automotive sales and finance sector before he discovered a new calling as a manager at Wal-Mart, a position he held with dedication since 2007.

Outside of work, Brian's passions were manifold; he cherished fishing, exploring the art of cooking, sharing meals with loved ones, and indulging in the crafts of cider and wine making. These interests were not only hobbies but reflections of his zest for life and community spirit.

Brian is survived by his beloved wife, Stephanie Ann Massing, whom he married on October 24, 1998, and his son, Kyle Massing. He is also fondly remembered by his step-children, Bre (Berman) Detty and Christopher (Piper Hoffman) Kreitzer, and the joy he found in his four grandchildren—Nevaeh Wilson, Isaac Camp, Zeke Camp, and Jocelyn Camp.

His loving family also includes his mother, Patricia Sarmir; brothers, Steve Massing and David Massing; father-in-law, Jack Schmid; brother-in-law, Steven (Mary) Schmid; sister-in-law, Susan Schmid (Graham) Wright; nephews, Nathan (Lex) Schmid and Nicholas Schmid; niece, Emma Massing; and a cherished friend and colleague, Jim Ash.

Brian's life, while full of love and laughter, was touched by loss as he was preceded in death by his biological father, Gary L. Eavers; adoptive father, John A. Massing; step-father, Thomas J. Sarmir; and his mother-in-law, Mary Craig Schmid.

A Celebration of Brian’s life will be held 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2025 at the Aging Up Community Center, located at 717 N. Nelson Ave., Wilmington, Ohio. Friends and family are warmly invited to drop in and share their memories.
