Alfred "Al" Lee Martelotti

Alfred "Al" Lee Martellotti, age 86, of Sardinia, Ohio, passed away Monday morning, December 18, 2023 at Monarch Meadows Nursing Home in Seaman.  
 
 He was born March 30, 1937 in Cincinnati, Ohio, son of the late Mario Ercole and Jenny Lind (Underwood) Martellotti. On October 3, 1959 at the Hartwell Presbyterian Church in Cincinnati he married Judy Lynne (Koch) Martellotti, who passed away on October 6, 2020.
 
 Al taught at Hillsboro High School for several years and was a part time deputy for Highland County Sheriff's office. He was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, a Civil War re-enactor, and a living history participant and history lecturer. Mr. Martelotti was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of the Mowrystown American Legion Roy W. Wilson Post 0694.
 
 Surviving are his two daughters: Melinda Sue (Greg) Bohrer and Denise Ann (Anthony) Hawkins; six grandchildren: Jacob Ray (Carrie) Bohrer, Caleb Albert (Rachel) Bohrer DVM, Megan Elaine (Andy) Winkle, Regan Sue (Justin Koeth) Bohrer RN, Ethan Wayne (Danielle) Hawkins, and Emmy Marie (Kodi Haas) Hawkins; great-grandchildren; Austin Bohrer, Ryleann Bohrer, Natalie Bohrer, Olivia Bohrer, Isabelle Bohrer, Penelope Winkle, Evelynn Hawkins,  Parker Winkle and Orson Bohrer.
 
In addition to his parents and wife, Al was preceded in death by his brother, Carlo Albert Martellotti and a granddaughter, Emily Denise Hawkins.
 
Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family at Edgington Funeral Home 17 E. Main St. Mowrystown, Thursday, December 21, 2023 at  with Pastor Kraig Walker officiating.  Interment will follow in the Union Cemetery, Taylorsville, where the Highland County Veterans Honor guard will conduct full military honors.
