Shirley A. Colvin, 84, of Wilmington, passed away early Saturday morning at home, January 10, 2015. She was born August 29, 1930 in Eaton, Ohio to Wilbur Addison Pennewitt and Agnes Pauline Benham Pennewitt. She married Jack N. Colvin on March 20, 1954.
Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt.
Shirley was very active in her community by volunteering at Faith Lutheran Church; she was a life long member of Girl Scouts (55 years), received a Girl Scout Green Badge of Courage award; was active as a 4-H leader; and was a Charter Member of the Sugar and Spice Committee sponsored by the Democratic Party of Clinton County. Shirley was also selected as one of the Outstanding Women of Clinton County (2005).
She is preceded in death by a sister, Elba I. Drais, brother, Phillip B. Pennewitt, infant son, Gary L. Colvin, and infant grandchildren, Christopher and Lynn Morrison.
In addition to her husband, other surviving family members are her three daughters, Vickie A. Morgan, Lucinda "Cindy" M. (Dave) Coble, and Cathy L. (Tom) Morrison. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Julie A. (Rob) Minney Jr., Jason K. (Gina) Morgan, Jack N. Coble, and Krista E. Morrison; six great grandchildren, Robert Minney III, Olivia Minney, Jacob Morgan, Steve Sizemore V, Katrina Sizemore, and Kara Sizemore as well as several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the Faith Lutheran Church, 421 E. Vine St. Wilmington, with Rev. June Fryman officiating. Interment will follow in the Martinsville I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Following the burial services a Celebration of Life Luncheon will be held at the church.  Visitation will be Wednesday, 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the church.
